Guns in the Hands of Artists

Swords Into Plowshares Peace Center and Gallery | 33 E Adams St, Detroit, MI 48226

April 14-May 25, 2018

Opening Reception: Saturday, April 14, 6:30-8:30 pm

Driven by concern with the overwhelming availability of firearms and the national crisis faced by the use of guns in our society, this show will highlight art that explores the impact of guns on our communities, particularly through the big business of gun sales. This exhibit is sponsored by WCAMI (Women’s Caucus Art Michigan), in partnership with Swords into Plowshares Peace Center and Gallery. A percentage of the entry fees will be donated to Mothers Demand Action and Mothers of Murdered Children.

All media, including performance art and written art, will be considered. The exhibit will be curated by an exhibition committee of the WCAMI. Work need not be for sale. However, artists are encouraged to submit art for sale. The gallery will retain 20% commission.

This call is open to all artists, regardless of age, or gender! The WCAMI will be using Entrythingy to view your submitted artwork and to accept payment through Paypal. New to EntryThingy or returning to the site?  To enter submissions go to EntryThingy-Michigan WCA
